FHS-2400
Reflection:
My performance on these assignments demonstrate achievement towards the SLCC College-wide learning objectives by allowing me to use my creative and critical thinking skills. Participating in reflective thinking and expressing those thoughts in writing also show advancement in learning to communicate effectively. Developing the knowledge and skills to be civically engaged and understanding the world and ways in which it works is also a SLCC learning objective. The skills I am developing in this class are added to the skills that I have already gained in previous classes. Skills to understand, apply, analyze, and evaluate the knowledge that I have gained.
For our e-portfolio we were to choose 2 of our assignments and post them. I chose my paper on nonverbal communication and my paper on readiness for marriage. The title of this class was Marriage & Family Relationships and I believe that these two papers were directly related to that subject; communication with others in a relationship and ones readiness for marriage. These assignments demonstrated that I have gained knowledge about personality, interpersonal relations, and families.
Completing these assignments and other course work throughout the semester have allowed me to better understand not only my relationship with my own family and how it works, but also how other families besides my own function as well. This class has shown me how families work within themselves and also interact with society. Completing these assignments will allow me to take the knowledge and skills that I have learned in this class and use them in my day to day life outside of school.
